What is intimate action, the intimacy coordinator role as part of the crew, how to prep for intimate action, what are nudity & simulated sex riders and some safety considerations that invite more creative exploration. In the wake of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements Intimacy Coordination has emerged to the front of the professional film and TV scene. Netflix, HBO and Amazon Prime, BBC, Sky TV, Channel 4 have been quick to respond by leading the charge to safeguard their sets.
You’ll learn about the role of the Intimacy Coordinator, what they do, how to find/engage them and how to create safe and supportive working environments for actors. You’ll also be introduced to IDI’s pillars of intimacy and how they can be applied from rehearsal through to production.
The Course will have a mix of discussion and practical exercises.
Content Notice: participants will not be practicing intimacy or staging intimacy. However, scripts will have intimate language and videos or photos shown during the session will depict actors in states of nudity and/or performing simulated sexual action.

Intimacy Coordinator & Co-founder of Moving Body ArtsYarit Dor Is an IDC Certified Intimacy Coordinator, SAG-AFTRA Registered Intimacy Coordinator and also works as a Movement Coach. She is the former chair of Bectu Intimacy Coordinators Branch and amongst the first generation of intimacy coordinators in the UK and EU. Co-director of MOVING BODY ARTS which offers choreography services to film, TV and stage. In 2020 she was nominated for the “Shaker of The Year” Award, BAFTA London. She is a visiting tutor at Rose Bruford and Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
