London Film School Workshops and Short Courses Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions apply to all workshops, short courses, and related training programmes (“Courses”) provided by London Film School (“LFS”, “we”, “us”) to individuals who are not enrolled as full-time students of the School (“Participants”, “you”).
By booking and paying for a Course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- Booking and Payment
1.1 All bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only upon receipt of full payment.
1.2 Payment must be made in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing by LFS.
1.3 Course places are personal to the Participant and may not be transferred without prior written consent from LFS.
- Cancellation and Refund Policy
2.1 You have the right to cancel your booking within 14 calendar days of purchase and receive a full refund, provided that you notify LFS in writing within this period.
2.2 Where a Course is due to commence within the 14-day cancellation period, you expressly request that LFS begins delivery of the Course during that period and acknowledge that your right to cancel may be lost or reduced once the Course has commenced.
2.3 If you cancel within the 14-day period but after the Course has begun, LFS reserves the right to deduct a proportionate amount of the Course fee to reflect the services already delivered.
2.4 After 14 days from the date of purchase, Course bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where LFS cancels the Course in accordance with Clause 3.
2.5 No refunds will be given for non-attendance, late arrival, early departure, or failure to complete the Course.
- Cancellation or Changes by LFS
3.1 LFS reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, or amend any Course due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to tutor unavailability, insufficient participant numbers, or operational requirements.
3.2 LFS reserves the right to cancel a Course where minimum enrolment numbers are not met.
3.3 LFS also reserves the right to substitute tutors or adjust Course content where necessary without liability.
3.4 In the event that LFS cancels a Course, Participants will be offered:
- a full refund of the Course fee paid; or
- the option to transfer to an alternative Course or rescheduled date (subject to availability)
3.5 LFS liability in the event of cancellation shall be strictly limited to the refund of the Course fee paid.
- Travel, Accommodation and Other Costs
4.1 LFS shall not be liable for any additional costs incurred by Participants, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, subsistence, loss of earnings, or other associated expenses.
4.2 Participants are strongly advised to ensure that any travel or accommodation arrangements are flexible or refundable.
- Participant Conduct and Suitability
5.1 Participants are expected to behave in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
5.2 LFS reserves the right to remove any Participant whose behaviour is considered disruptive, unsafe, or inappropriate. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
5.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring that the Course is suitable for their level of experience and personal circumstances.
5.4 LFS does not guarantee any specific outcome, professional advancement, or creative result from participation in a Course.
- Health and Safety
6.1 Participants must comply with all health and safety instructions provided by LFS staff and tutors.
6.2 Some Courses may involve the use of equipment or physical activity. Participants are responsible for ensuring they are fit and able to participate.
6.3 LFS accepts no responsibility for injury or loss resulting from a Participant’s failure to follow instructions or from misuse of equipment.
- Online Delivery
7.1 For Courses delivered online, Participants are responsible for ensuring they have access to suitable equipment, software, and a stable internet connection.
7.2 LFS shall not be liable for any interruption to the Course caused by technical issues on the Participant’s side.
- Liability
8.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits LFS liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot be excluded under applicable law.
8.2 Subject to Clause 8.1, LFS shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or loss of reputation.
8.3 LFS shall not be responsible for any loss arising from the use of third-party software, platforms, or tools introduced during the Course, including AI-based tools.
- Intellectual Property
9.1 All Course materials provided by LFS or its tutors remain the intellectual property of LFS or the relevant tutor and may not be copied, recorded, reproduced, or distributed without prior written consent.
9.2 Participants retain ownership of any original work they create during the Course.
9.3 By participating in the Course, Participants grant LFS a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use such work for promotional and educational purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Photography and Filming
10.1 LFS may photograph or record Courses for promotional, educational, or archival purposes.
10.2 Participants who do not wish to be photographed or recorded must notify LFS in writing prior to the start of the Course.
- Data Protection
11.1 LFS will process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and applicable data protection legislation.
- Force Majeure
12.1 LFS shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, industrial action, transport disruption, or governmental restrictions.
- Payment Disputes
13.1 LFS reserves the right to recover any reasonable costs incurred as a result of chargebacks or payment disputes initiated without valid grounds.
- Governing Law
14.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
14.2 Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
