What's included?

Most productions are shot entirely out of sequence, so a script supervisor is essential. Good script notes can save time and money in the edit and saves your story from continuity errors that distract audiences from your storytelling.

Often referred to as a department of one, a script supervisor has one of the most crucial roles on set. They keep detailed written and photographic records of dialogue, action, costumes and props to ensure continuity in the edit. Working closely with all departments, a script supervisor supports a production from script level right through to post.
This 2-day workshop, with experienced script supervisor Helene Oosthuizen (Game of Thrones, Suffragette), examines the skills and techniques necessary to work on-set today.

Topics covered on this workshop include:

  • 180-degree Rule/”The Line”
  • Continuity
  • Coverage
  • Digital Script Supervision Options
  • Eyelines
  • Forms/Paperwork
  • Liaising with Key Department Heads
  • Lined Script
  • Prepping a Production
  • Responsibilities to Production/Post-Production
  • Screen Direction
  • Script Breakdowns
  • Set Etiquette
  • Slating
  • Working with Multiple Cameras
  • Working with Visual Effects
